Clean
I was in Denny's the
other morning for breakfast and something caught my attention as
soon as I walked in. No sooner had my mother and I walked in
till I heard one of the waitresses call to a couple others and say
in a loud voice “Amy, Wendy, Denny's inspector is on his way!
No doubt Amy and Wendy were co workers. I started
thinking about that as I sat down and was waiting for my meal.
I was thinking of how the fact that they had an inspector
coming and wanted to make sure they had the store in good order,
reminded me of how we should be with Christ. We should want to
keep our hearts write with the Lord. For someday He is coming
for us and He has told us to watch for Him… He has also
said in the hour we think not, that is when He will come. I
was also thinking of how the waitress called these other two by
name, and I remember John 10 I believe it is tells us that the Lord
calls us by name as well. Beckoning us to come to Him, to
follow Him. O to be cleaned up by our good shepherd. TO
be His. TO get in practice for life above as some day my how
beautiful we as His church shall be. (Ephesians 5) Let us who
are believers examine our lives, and be getting cleaned up. If
you are reading and our not a believer, I have no words of
condemnation for you, but words of freedom, that is to say it will
be your freedom if you take them to heart, “Believe in Him”. A
little later I heard the same waitress that had warned the other two
about the inspector coming say, you know what that means? I
could not hear every thing they said when they answered her, but I
did hear her say “we need to clean the windows.” That I think
is what we should continually do with our heart. Clean the
windows so to speak that we might see Christ. O the joy, o the
peace in being who and all He has called us to be. We can not
do it alone, but He will help us if we believe.
